Roxy has taught art for four decades. Her first teaching gig was at Camp Four Winds, Blue Hill, Maine as a teenager. Savage describes herself as a guide, leader, beginner, and expert. Roxy has taught in museums, schools, libraries, print shops, skyscrapers, parks, and gardens. Her passion for teaching is fueled by curiosity, materials, research, and a socially engaged art practice. Savage’s expertise is integrating art into all fields of study and curriculums. Making art and teaching are essential to her alchemic process.
